Born and raised in New England, Judith Lee Page moved to the west coast at nineteen and spent six years as a clothing designer. She returned to Massachusetts with a young family and pursued her education first at Berkshire Community College, graduating with high honors, then Smith College as an Ada Comstock Scholar. Because of a lifelong interest in art and an unanswered need to be creative, she took courses in drawing and painting, and soon discovered that her true desire was to become a painter. She graduated with honors in painting from Smith in May of 1992.
A Mother of three and a Grandmother, Judith is pursuing a career in watercolor and oil painting. She has found the discipline needed to finish her studies in college while raising small children has prepared her for the rigors of painting full time and marketing her work. A past resident of Leverett Crafts and Arts in 1992 and a past member of the Amherst Artists’ Market, she finds being an active member of an arts community to be a source of artistic encouragement

Judith paints local landscapes and formal gardens, places of peace and contemplation. She feels that there is so much confusion and haste in the world that her work should be a haven from chaos and anxiety, rather than an expression of inner turmoil. When people are included in her paintings they are portrayed interacting with nature. She paints her children often, as they remind her of the childhood wonder she felt in the presence of the natural world and the inner peace which as an adult seems increasingly elusive. Her paintings are a synthesis of an inward search for contentment and an outward response to the natural beauty and life force surrounding her. Judith has been represented in many galleries including the Deerfield Gallery in South Deerfield, MA, Wilkins Art Consulting Firm in Longmeadow, MA, Amherst Gallery of Fine Arts, Leverett, MA. Her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout New England.
